Sing Softly! is a project by the soprano Juliet Fraser and the guitarist Alan Thomas who have selected John Dowland songs and asked composers to respond to one Dowland song each. This lunchtime concert brings the past into the present and shows how contemporary composers can be inspired by the music of the past.
Works by John Dowland, John Cage, William Walton, Howard Skempton and James Weeks alongside new works by Kim Ashton, John Habron, Alan Thomas and Philip Venables.
